TORY BURCH ‘Elias’ Cut-Out Sandals

Tory Burch Elias 2011

THE DAILY SHOE REVIEW – These “Elias” Cut-out sandals by Tory Burch belong in my opinion to that category of footwear that makes them look much better than in an inanimate photo. Do you agree with me? The cut out of the now classic covering sandal boot is revisited here, not so much in concept as in decor. Each profile is in fact emphasized by an additional contrasting edge, which is specifically white against the camel bottom.

Even the textures contrast, between the suede of the warm colour that constitutes the soul of the shoe and the smooth skin in bright white that underlines the curves. The heel is very high, thin, extremely slender, as if to balance with a contrasting detail how massive the front of the shoe is, also supported by a small platform. Too bad that the heel has that usual wood effect that I find always adds an air vaguely and sometimes hopelessly cheap to every shoe. Can you tell me what you think?
